Dr. Chen Daizhao made an oral presentation on interaction between geosphere and biosphere during the key transition period and provided a new understanding of ferrugination of sediments organic matter rather than sulfuration resulting from a lack of sulphate rocks in deep-water deposition. In the discussion section, Prof. Sang, Dr. Zhou and some graduate students presented their questions and had discussions related to deep-time research, indicators of palaeoenvironment and their significance for sediment organic matter formation with Dr. Chen.
