10/19/2019-10/23/2019 Room 319, Key Laboratory of Coalbed Methane Resources & Reservoirs Formation Process, Ministry of Education, Wenchang campus
Dr. Krooss provided a short course and made several presentations on gas generation, storage and transport processes in coalbed and shale. The class was started with an introduction of RWTH Aachen University and Dr. Krooss’s study and research experiences. The short course covered coal formation, properties, density, porosity, permeability, gas adsorption, gas content, storage capacity and gas flow. On the class, the graduate students were required to finish some exercises on coal density calculation, adsorption data fitting using Langmuir model, gas content and Darcy’s law calculation. During the short course, Dr. Tang Xu from the University of Nottingham was invited to make a presentation associated with supercritical gas adsorption on coal and shale.
